  • A welder works on an American school bus in Cuidad Vieja, Guatemala. The bus will be transformed into a "camioneta" or "chicken bus". Chicken buses are a staple for getting around Guatemala. Chicken bus owners paint their buses in distinctive styles and colors, in part, because so many of their customers are unable to read the stops and locations where each bus will travel. The paint colors and designs help passengers quickly determine which bus to get on. The paint and design scheme reflects the personality of the bus owners as well.
