  • Processioners carry a big display through the streets of Antigua, Guatemala on March 15, 2013. This procession went right past my house around 7:30 in the morning. Then it meandered through town all day and came back by the house at 1:30 at night. That means they were carrying this thing all day long. But not the same people the whole time. They tag in and out like WWE wrestlers. Photo by Scott Umstattd

  • March 17, 2013, a couple of tough looking hombres lay down some pretty colors as they make a carpet for a procession to walk over later in the day. With pre-cut templates, these guys made flowers and other swirly designs out of tinted saw dust and sand. Then, later in the day, a bunch of people walked over it and destroyed it.
